Harry Potter's Casting Director, Fiona Weir, is the luckiest woman in the world. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Malfoy, Neville, Luna and all the other supporting kids have grown up into their parts with grace, style and ever-evolving acting prowess. Directors, Composers, and Crew have succeeded in establishing Rowling's creation as a real world we crave to be part of. No dry eyes in the theatre for Deathly Hallows fans. Can't wait for the last movie.
Chemistry between Willis and Morgan is top rate. Much room for sequels for this delightful team. Side characters also brillilant! Kevin Smith's direction and pacing are flawless. This puts Tracy Morgan into a new and, I hope, high class movie career that should have great legs. Five stars!!! (btw, our group spanned ages from 20's to 60's, and all are in agreement.)
Chiding bigotry, or exploitation? Viewer must decide. If you're there for the laughs, there are plenty. Guilty pleasure or not, up to you. If this doesn't seem clear, that's my point. The movie is definitely provocative, never boring, and worth a look. You won't believe the weird and sometimes horrible people SBC encounters, or the outright dangers he exposes himself to for the story, or the laugh. He manages to make even hate-able people a little sympathetic. Go.
Everyone in our party loved the movie, from hard-core Trekkies to novices. Without being slavish imitations, the character portrayals are dead on,(Kirk is Kirk, Spock is Spock, and Dr. McCoy was like seeing DeForest Kelley back from the dead.. AMAZING!). The Trek Universe is well-drawn, particularly in the more intimate scenes--so hard to do on the large screen. J.J. Abrams really GETS it. MORE! MORE!
