I went to this movie with high hopes, as I love Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson. It definitely starts out building the story, first it shows the last 3 years, the last 3 months and the BOMB, the last 3 days. It was a little slow the first half but nail biting the last. I found a few parts unbelievable, but after all, it is the movies. I would recommend this movie.
If you like mystery and suspense, you'll more than likely appreciate this film. It was not what I expected and the end made it worth the parts where you just wanna know what is really going on and leave. Probably better watching it twice....if you can stomach some parts.
Okay, I know it's a fantasty/horror movie, but come on. You would think with some of these fine actors it would've been better made, but it was a remake. I thought Anthony and Emily did excellent, even Benicio was pretty good, but the effects sucked pretty much. If you really want to see it, go during the day for a matinee feature so it doesn't cost as much.
I enjoyed the movie, but as I watch a lot of foreign and domestic movies about this time and what happened, this was more like a comic book version. Full of action and laughs, I would recommend it!
I brought my 11 year old daughter and we enjoyed the movie. I haven't watched a movie in 3D in a very long time! Very artistic cast, director, producer..so on. It did give us an opportunity to discuss how parents may not always give their time when the child thinks they should, but doesn't mean they don't want them or love them...so on.... I did appreciate the conversation it opened up for us.
I've read some reviews and have to agree that it did jump around a little much. I recommend it for a girl's night out, not so much a date movie. I thought it was funny and so sad how too many women put too much emotion into "nothing" from guys and, how little it takes to "set off" a cheater. The married woman did the right thing by moving on.
I've always loved Tyler's work. I was introduced to him by his plays and portraying Madea. That's what I fell in love with...and his messages. I liked the movie, maybe better than the play. The only thing that bothered me about it all is there was only one white character that was not portrayed as a total dimwit or "bad guy". I was disappointed in this because he is supposed to be a Christian. Maybe Hollywood got him to write that in, but in any case, if this is what he wants to put out there in his work, I may not be so quick to help his ticket sales. It was funny though. I do love me some Madea.
Daniel Craig and Liev Shrieber are fantastic in this drama! It's an absolutely wonderful story of survival, family fortitude and strength on all the characters behalves. I've not heard of this family before and I watch a lot of films about this period, it's a great movie, would definitely recommend it!
