The 3D effects were cool, but it's not nearly as effective as when you see a movie in IMAX 3D. This is mainly because you can see the edge of the frame, so it sort of ruins some of the more "in your face" effects. I would suggest sitting as close to the screen as possible.
The movie itself was very cliche is all ways imaginable. If not for the 3D it would be almost unwatchable. In my opinion though, the 3D doesn't make up for poor quality of the acting, plot, pacing, etc.
Skip it... but I guess you can't wait for DVD or BluRay, since there would be no point in seeing it without the 3D. Eh.
