I am surprised that any fan would be less than completely excited about this film. Yes, this is 2009 and of course one would expect contemporary special effects! All the actors carried their roles excellently and as former fan of the "old timers", the new. beginning generation fit the mold perfectly.
Great movie, I can't wait for the DVD and sequels to come out!

As fans of James Lee Burke novels, and Yankee transplants to south Louisiana, we were very impressed with the authentic delivery of the characters in Electric Mist. Expressions and accent were not merely "southern" but a reality reflected of the area.The imagined images that Burke creates could not have been better portrayed by all the actors, and for viewers unfamiliar with the regional location, the director's use of actual locale, provided the reality of delivering this New York Time's bestseller into a top quality film.
We absolutely recommend this movie, especially to James Lee Burke readers!
