Verdi's Don Carlo was beautifully sung. Dramatic orchestration subtly attuned to the changing emotions of the text, psychological intensity of the story line made attending this opera a thrilling experience. Many of know and love his Aida but Don Carlo is even more satifying.

Rossini's Armida at the Met

In this classic conflict between love and duty duty wins out because the love was ginned up thru sorcery. Rossini at his lyrical best in this neglected opera and Renee Fleming was elegant and vocally dazzling in the title role.
