I really didn't care for this movie, way too seedy and I wouldn't recommend it to everyone -- just some who are real movie buffs and need to see Rourke's performance which is really the only reason to see this movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Absolutely lives up to the reviews, definately one of the best movies of the year. Stands shoulder to shoulder with movies like Hotel Rwanda and others...and just like Rwanda there sre scenes that are disturbing in the slums but what a movie!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
