Saw it in 3D. Either the 3D effect was not as good as I had imagined it would be, or it was SO good and so "natural" that I forgot that it really WAS in 3D. In any event, the movie itself was outstanding, expertly produced and perfectly performed. Humor and pathos. Loved it.
This was an above-average movie, and if a viewer was really paying attention, they'd see an interesting correlation between the over exhuberant zeal to humiliate Nixon when he left office, and the exhuberant zeal of the left to humiliate and castigate Bush when he left office. I don't believe we've seen this on film as yet for any Democratic President, as evidenced by the absence of any films from Hollywood about Clinton, which would have to carry an X-rating. No films from Stone, no films from Howard. But two now about Nixon. This is a characteristic quality of the left captured well in this film, even though I'm certain that Ron Howard's motives were certainly not to shed a bad light on fellow travelers.
