Engrossing movie. Immediately moves one past the media image of "Tom Cruise" and into a suspenseful, masterfully produced and directed movie experience. I didn't see the "guy on Oprah's couch"-- I saw a serious actor totally inhabiting his character, the war hero von Stauffenberg who has decided to try to kill Hitler.
Kenneth Branagh (of Henry V fame) does not disappoint, & I didn't recognize Eddie Izzard; in fact I pretty much forgot I was watching actors and gave myself over to the story. The production values are glorious, from the editing to the cinematography to the music to the costumes.
My recommendation: see it!
