First off this was a great movie on the visual and action packed side, with a bit of a gratuitous Star Wars scene (think creatures). Anyway, after first leaving the theatre I felt like a piece of my Star Trek history had been surgically removed, but at second glance today, I feel this movie opened up a whole new direction for Star Trek. The acting was superb. The personality and character representation were dead on with this new cast. I guess somewhere in my purist way I hope for a reconnection to the Original, TNG, DS9, Voyager but can see how (without spoiling the ending) that there's lots to come in a good way. GO SEE THIS MOVIE whether you are a die hard or never watched before. This movie has something for everyone.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
