Although I admire the clever script and excellent direction, the film has too much graphic violence against children, and some other horrifying and violent scenes. The trailers and ads make one think that this will be an uplifting and upbeat film, but don't be fooled. The last half hour though, is brilliant. Overhyped
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A suberbly acted and directed film, Milk is simply the best film of the year. With the overly hyped Slumdog..., Milk may be overlooked at Oscar time, and that would be a shame. Not only is the film historically accurate, it captures the feel of the seventies and the emotion in the issues of civil rightds for gay people and others.
This is Gus Van Sant's Masterpiece- a must see!
