Yes, it's slow and it's not a talkie. The plot lines aren't all obvious. But it's poignant and the main characters are complex. Clooney is very good, as is the girlfriend. In scenes where he's afraid and on alert, I felt it too.
Would I recommend it? WIth qualifications. Would I see it again? No. But I'm glad I saw it.
Why four stars? It's better than average.

Very funny

More than pleasantly surprised was this fifty-something baby boomer. It was very funny and well done. The director had a very good touch for mixing humor with sentimentality, plus great music that made the rocker come across as real.
Jonah and Russell were terrific. Great cast!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
