I had a few misgivings about Tron:Legacy because I loved the original 70's flick so much, but I was NOT disappointed! It was a thrill ride from beginning to end! I would love to have seen justice to the Encom board be a little more aggressive, but I guess that takes time. I NEVER looked at my watch during the movie - a sign of a good one! Oh, and Jeff Bridges? He had a "Dude" edge to some of his lines - what a kick!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I was pleasantly amazed at the development of the this movie. I generally judge the quality of a movie by whether I look at my watch during the showing. This film FLEW by, a roller coaster ride, and I was surprised that it was finished before I'd ever looked at my watch! Excellent!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Big Disaster Movie

Went to see this flick with a friend last night. She LOVED it, but I thought it was quite reminiscent of the 70's big disaster flicks like Airport 77, Towering Inferno, etc. As other reviewers have noted, there were great computer generated effects, so kudos to the actors who spent lots of time in front of green screens which couldn't have been easy, and a lot of suspense - "oh, no, will they make it??" - but it was a pretty formulaic adventure. In-theater daiquiries were good, though!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Wow, did this movie take me back to the beginning of it all! I was in on the launching of the Enterprise 'way back when it first showed up on TV!
It was so much fun to hear the old, familiar original lines, like "D--n it, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a ...!" and "Captain, she's giving it all she's got!" Simon Pegg was fab as Scottie. And Bones' younger self could have been one of McCoy's true offspring! Good job, guys & gals! Loved it!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
