What a glorious way to enjoy an opera. The movie is able to capture the sound superbly. But the real bonus is that you can see the emotions of the perforners without trying to look through binoculars. It also eliminates the need to bounce your head up and down to read the translations. Cost - about 1/10 of an opera ticket. We're hooked - keep 'em coming.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Aida, her love, and her jealous rival have wonderful voices that make this production over the top. The staging is fabulous, but the movie allows plenty of close-ups so you are able to see the emotion of the characters.
