why make THIS movie? what was the point of taking a brilliant literary creation who epitomizes the rational man and turning him into just another wise-cracking brawling super agent? why not just invent an alternative Victorian era sleuth- say Schmendrick Smith- and start from scratch? The only thing missing was a wild horse drawn carriage chase against traffic in downtown London.. uh oh, I forgot..there is already a sequel being written. I may have just been a spoiler. That all said, Downey and Jude were fine and the sets excellent.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
