Loved this movie - saw it twice. It's hard to watch the brutality and the lack of respect for people as human beings. However, the story is so compelling and each character is believable. You never doubt Jamal's love for Latika and you know that him being with her is worth more than all the money in the world. Totally deserved all the awards it's received.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
