I've loved Superman since I was a kid and avidly read the comic books. The Christopher Reeves movies were excellent. After reading reviews of this so-called darker version I was worried about how it would turn out. Fortunately it was not overly dark. That was advertising hype. The scenes with Superman and Clark Kent as a boy with his parents (both sets), and also those with Lois Lane were done very well, and some scenes could bring a tear to your eye. Only problem I had was that although I love action and effects, there were more than needed, and more story would have been appreciated. Casting was excellent. Superman and Lois Lane, though different from previous movie, were perfect. I will be waiting for a sequel.

Great special effects, but lacks some in plot, inconsistent details, and dialog. Who doesn't love Charlize Theron, but if she had some good lines, I would have liked her more.

Great Visuals But Dragged On

Great acting with great visuals and cinematography. But they could have told the whole story in one movie. Instead they needlessly dragged out boring scenes in the forest, just so they could make money on a second installment.

See this in 3-D and have a real adventure in another world. The plot, the romance, and the cinematic action and beauty combine to make a great movie. You can read editorials and reviews commenting on the political implications of this movie. However what good story does not relate to universal themes? If you miss Avatar, you will miss an important experience.

Much Better Than Expected

We were on the edge of our seats from start to finish. Made you feel like you were part of it. Everything about the movie was quality. Actor should get a Best Actor nomination. We talked about the movie afterwards, and it is still vivid in memory, which is not typical for me.
