The animation was the star of this movie - the dragons and landscapes seemed to be a direct nod to 70s album artist Roger Dean, but the animation was breathtakingly realistic - no jerky-motion figures like in "I Am Legend." Acting-wise, there's no Oscar-winning performances here, and the script seems like something intended for a Disney animated film; very predictable and filled with moral messages. At least you can get lost in the adventure and fantasy. Worth seeing on IMAX/3D, but not worth seeing in the theater twice and not a good DVD purchase unless you have a very large high-res screen to show it on.
