I don’t know why the critics did not like this movie. I did not watch the TV versions so I had no preconceived notion of what it should be. I thought it was well done, not on a level of Lord of the Rings but good. Well Done, my kids and I would defiantly see a sequel.
It is a good tale and well done. It sets the stage for the Robin Hood legend. I was concerned it would be just a redo of previous stories but I was relieved to find a great new take on the traditional tale. Well done by the actors and as expected great battle sequences. I am ready for the story to continue.
This movie was just what the doctor ordered. Children and adults both enjoyed this wonderful tale. In IMAX it was just spectacular and you felt like you were right there with the characters. Good dialog with plenty of little inserts which adults will pickup on while all the children in the audience seemed to follow along just fine without asking parents to explain. Bring the kids and the old folks too. It's in the Disney tradition and Walt would be pleased.
I enjoyed the movie and the actors did a great job but I did not feel the excitement I felt with the previous movies. Lots of little details from the books were left out and I never felt that anyone was in peril even when I should have. I felt like I was watching a place holder until the next movie.
The movie was better than I expected. Not only did they reintroduce the primary characters from the original Trek beautifully but the story in which they did it was great. Super visuals and good acting made me standup and clap at the end. Welcome back Star Trek, we need more, more, more….
It was a dull emotionless yarn, nothing like the original. The dysfunctional family did not work, Klaatu was very cold and never communicated directly to the world’s population; your impression was that the only persons who understood the peril were Helen and the Defense Secretary. We were to deduce that they would convince us of the danger, kind of like Al Gore. And if the world would just startup again we would change our ways and do what the big bad aliens wanted. What did they really want anyway? Then, treachery on an unimaginable scale, Helen didn’t utter “Klaatu barada nikto” to save our retched butts. The audience made no sound at the end; they just got up rushed to the rest rooms, which is where this movie should be left. Bah Humbug
The animation was excellent and the story was not too predictable. Adults and children will all enjoy this movie. The digital 3D makes it all the more compelling and a must see for the holidays.
A believable and compelling plot with great acting kept me sitting on the edge of my seat and made me feel that I was watching real events. The story had enough twists and turns to keep me guessing where Samir’s loyalties really lied. A great movie worth seeing and a vivid reminder about the realities we face today and the struggle of a person of faith within their religion.
