This movie didn't just exceed my expectations, it SMASHED them! Not only is this my new favorite superhero movie EVER [yes- besting even The Dark Knight], this is just one of my new favorite movies, PERIOD. Joss Whedon's screenplay and direction masterfully capture the very essence of each of the heroes, and the actors do an exceptional job of bringing everything to life. The team dynamic was expertly balanced- everyone had purpose individually as well as collectively. I will acknowledge that the story itself may be too straightforward for some to appreciate, but, given all the elements that had to be addressed and the genre in genereal, it is a work of total excellence. A tale must'nt be overly complex to be EPIC, and that's precisely where Avengers triumphs-- in its epic epicness!!! Just go already. And then go again!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'm not sure what other people were expecting, but this movie made me laugh, made me jump, and kept my interest the entire time. It was inventive in its use of familiar tropes in unexpected ways, and the cast did a nice job too. I can't wait to see it again!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

While it was definitely worth the wait and pretty solid all-around, the death scenes are almost all way too short! Scream is known for its suspenseful chase/death scenes and although the body count in 4 is high, the delivery lacks a lot of the finesse and panache of the previous installments. The humor just isn't quite as zippy and fresh as the others- it definitely has the darkest, most cynical voice. By far the worst part was that there wasn't nearly enough Gale Weathers!! It would've been great to see Courteney Cox better-utilized in this. Overall, though, I'm a rabid fan of the franchise and this left me feeling satisfied. The acting is all very solid and enjoyable, and while the dialogue doesn't always sizzle, the plot is tremendously clever and just as twisty and surprising as the first Scream.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
