Overall a pretty decent movie. Nothing spectacular but the performances of Luke and Bassett were really good. Jamal Woolard was also very good given his limited acting experience.
I always love Sandler's films but this one really is just for the kids. I figured "Disney/Sandler, how could you go wrong" but I was completely bored throughout.
Young, young kids will definitely like it but anyone over the age of 12 will be bored with all the potty jokes.
Don't let the dry subject matter fool you, this movie is an absolute joy to watch. I was engrossed from start to finish. To my surprise, Ron Howard presents a fair and rather non-biased portrayal of Nixon (despite the "she's black" remark) and Michael Sheen is excellent as Frost. This is easily one of the best movies of the year so definitely go see it.
This movie is geared to middle/high school aged girls so if you fit into that category then go see it - you will probably like it. But to me, it was very average. The two main characters basically spend the entire film pining for each other and expressing their desire for each other. That's really it - it gets REALLY old. The baseball scene is pretty cool, though.
I'm not a big indy film person but this movie was sooo good. It's a rollercoaster ride; you are glued to your seat from the opening scene to the end credits. The musical score was top notch and the cinematography was absolutely brilliant. I'm not sure why they call it comedy though - it's more of an action/drama flick.
I absolutely loved this film and will be seeing it again in the next few days. Very highly recommended!!
