The movie was very dramatic and intense and Denzel Washington was superb. He could easily get an Oscar for his acting role in this. The movie paints a very dismal picture of what alcoholism and drug use is like and how it can destroy a person's life. It's a little difficult to sit through all the drugs and alcohol, but it's probably very realistic.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Excellent Movie

I grew up in South and experienced first-hand many things in this movie when I was growing up. It is an excellent depiction of that period of time and is deeply moving.
