Very imaginative. Could be scary to younger children. Mine 9 & 11 found it somewhat creepy. My older backs up his thoughts by repeating "plain freaky" my youngest liked the fantasy and the story line. I enjoyed the movie but I like this type of ott imaginative animation, akin to the nightmare before christmas. Too much going on at certain times and I couldn't keep up. We saw the 3D version.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Initial chase scene - best I've seen yet ...the shooting angles, slowwwing down to a stop mid action..I could go on..but you'll see. kudos to the animators for their creativity..Lovable characters...easy to hear/understand what they are saying!!! ...bring kleenex even the hard-hearted among you will be touched ...ahhemmmm! Bolt, you reminded me of my pooch many times.
