Typical tough guy movie. Weak plot lots of action, sex, explosions, and of course everyone's favorite horrible cheesy one liners. Statham brings it to the table with his acting ability and his slick moves, but all in all this is not a film, it is just a time filler, you have seen this story played out in many many other films. You really should watch it if you have nothing else to do on a Tuesday night. Pick up a 6-pack and a pizza sit in that easy-chair and feel like a man for and hour and forty minutes. Oh and its true no matter how much you say it out-loud no you can not do that move Statham just did and do not even attempt it we don't want you to pull a hammy or anything. This film is a DVD-See-Only.
It was very well narrated from the point of view of supporting actor very good choice. The plot was a basic western plot, the acting was great I excepted nothing less than that from Ed Harris and company. His flow and direction of the movie was easy, smooth, and it keeps you involved wanting to know what happens next always. Action is great nothing over the top very believable. The only downside to the film is that I never really saw what drove Cole to always seek out Mrs. French maybe I completely missed it but it just did not seem like it was developed that well in the film. This film is a Theater/DVD-See.
Books are often better than the film adaptation and this film is another statistic for that stereotype. This film is a must see for everyone who has read the books but other than that it really only appeals to teenage girls gazing up at the hunk on screen and wishing it was them who he was after. The plot is weak ,the acting is mediocre, the characters are never really gone in depth with to really involve you in their story, and the action and adventure is few and far between. Instead of seeing this film invest the money into the books because its true in this case, books are often better than their film adaptations. It really deserves a 2.5/5 This film is a DVD-See-Only
Most comedies basically, are very bad, but what Kevin Smith can do with humor is one of the reasons why i still even see comedies in theaters. The humor in this film is crude yes but it is also very witty, original, and smart all at the same time. Jokes very well timed placed and executed. the acting is very well done even the plot in this movie stands out above some other films that have been released this year and this film is a comedy! Overall its a good movie to enjoy and have a good time laughing. This film is a Theater/DVD-see.
Its one of those comedies that relies on outrageous humor to coast you along the film, no real plot depth, and mediocre acting, but hey its a comedy so what should you really expect. Yes is has its funny parts and yes it falls flat at times making you wonder why your holding in going to the bathroom afraid your going to miss the next joke. Well i can tell you its just fine to go do your business your not going to miss anything you have not seen before. The film is good for a few laughs but its not going to split your side open. This is not one of those comedies that you will be quoting lines from the next day so save your money go out to your local video store and rent Caddyshack or something.
