I have honestly never read the graphic novels, and I enjoyed the movie very much. They give people who have never read the comics a chance to catch up with some of the more educated audience. I wouldn't recommend taking children as some parents think it's okay even though it is rated 'R'. The movie has a lot to offer and was amazing till the end. Finally, a movie they haven't butchered.

Ok, this review is for those who have never read the books. The movie without previous knowledge is very boring. The beginning drags, no action happens till the end, and the acting is horrible. I would rent instead of wasting money in a theater. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE READ THE BOOK: I was very disappointed. All the lines were switched around... too much was changed. The movie lost the essence the book had. I gave the movie a go, but even my husband was falling asleep and he loves romantic movies. Especially vampire ones.. the theatre was quite. There were some good scenes, but a lot to be desired.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
