Just what you would have expected from Tim . The red queen is definitely the nasty you would expect to see in something so demented..and that head, GEEZ, so huge! The film does tend to move quickly, and although i loved johnny depp as the mad hatter, he kept switching his accent purpously and sometimes it was hard to know what the hell he was saying! I saw this in 2-d and it was vivid and interesting to watch, so i can imagine what 3-d was like. To sum it up. Bitchy red queen, flitty white queen, take-no-crap Alice, Mental mad Hatter, creepy and interesting added characters with a fast paced story line. Not too shabby, Tim.
I read the book, i saw the movie...YES, it is good, let me rephrase that, GREAT! It pretty much follows the book with only a few things in the story left out. I have to say this is not, irepeat, IS NOT for young kids!!!! Upper Frontal female nudity, full frontal male nudity, sex scenes..ok, lets say very soft porn. The action, costumes, likenesess of the characters compared to the comic..very good! Blood, bones, violence, strong language, sex.. this has it all and more. I give it a 9 out of 10 only because the black freighter comic wasn't in it. Of course it would have made the movie wayyyyy to long.
Tim Burton films are great, this one was no different! But..for the ticket price of 14.00, the 3D should have been better. You would be better off seeing coraline at the regular ticket price and skipping the 3D. Only the first 5 minutes of the film had any POP to the 3D effects. As for the film itself. Great for Tim Burton fans of the stop-motion animation but for kids who get scared easy and have nightmares over the basement noises..DEFINITELY NOT! Kinda creepy, a little dark. wait for the dvd.
