I had high expectations, and this film didn't disappoint. It went so much deeper than even the best "comic-book" movies, taking the so-called "good guys" to the very limits of endurance, exploring what it truly means to be a hero and the sacrifices involved. Dark, chilling, ponderous film, with excellent performances all around. Ledger's Joker will go down in history as one of the most sadistic, monstrous villains in American film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
