Everything old is new again...

Some trekkies will be angry about the direction this film took. But if it hadn't left the series with a clean slate, the film would've been an end to the franchise; with nowhere to go but rehashing the old episodes. It (re)introduced the characters and set the stage for a new gen of Trek fans; many of whom haven't seen the last 40 yrs of storyline and now have a reason find out where it really all started. For all the hardcore who feel like the last 40 yrs got thrown out the window by this film, try and remember that this film adds to the overall mythos of the franchise; it isn't nullifying anything we already know and love, it simply gives us a new "what if" branch to add to the tree of Star Trek canon. Go see this film if you haven't!
