It was alright I guess, but I couldnt escape the feeling that they decided to make the movie from the book series now instead of any other time to milk money out of the Twilight-induced vampire fad while they still can. I guess I'm biased, but I really hate it when they make a movie simply to jump on some bandwagon. That fact alone tarnished the movie for me. But I'm sure people who watch it with an open mind will enjoy it for what it's worth....its a fun movie for any occasion.
Paranormal is an absolutely fantastic psychological thriller. Perhaps it is because it seems so realistic: the actors look and act like normal, real people, their house looks like any of our houses, it is filmed as an amateur would, and their story is oddly believable. The suspense is incredible. Not a single person left the theater who wasn't scared or disturbed by this movie...it was worth every penny of my 8 dollars to see it on the big screen. It is hard to explain this movie's true appeal...you must see it for yourself. You WILL be afraid to walk into your house when you go home, whether it scared you or not. Truly a breath of fresh air into a trite, hackneyed genre of film...the new standard for psychological thriller has been set
If the previews hadn't made it seem so funny it wouldn't have been as disappointing, although it wasn't terrible. The story is predictable, but the 80s setting gives it a cool twist and the acting isn't horrible...the dialogue is weak but the characters are likable. I laughed a lot. My boyfriend and I both though Bill Hader should have had a bigger part, he is hysterical.
Not great and not terrible, but I think it's worth seeing. It was refreshing to see a kind of "reverse slasher" movie like this. It sets you up to be angry enough to really want to see the antagonists die, and when they do (or if you saw the previews), you know whats coming to them and it feels good to see justice served. This movie satisfies in that respect, and you don't leave the theater with a bad taste in your mouth. Not only that, the story could happen in real life. It's not fantastic or anything, but I did not regret seeing it. My boyfriend absolutely loved it.
Fantastic movie...it kept my undivided attention the entire time...the plot is very driving and suspenseful, you just can't help but get emotionally invested in it...I would recommend it to anyone!!!
At first I didn't know what to think of this movie…i've never seen anything quite like it before. there isn't much dialogue, especially at the beginning (which may make some kids bored), so it forces you to watch and think about what you're seeing. Pixar takes the familiar themes of love and loss, among other things, and takes a much different approach to what seems like a familiar story. it was a touching and fascinating movie, and there's something in it for everyone; not to mention the amazing digital animation. I saw it at a drive-in one night, and that made it even better. it's definitely not just a kids movie (in fact i think it's a little over the head for younger kids). wall-e is a sizable cinematic gem. i thoroughly enjoyed it.
As a teenage girl I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it...my friends and I all loved it and it was just really cute and fun to watch. definitely not just another boring kids movie!
Definitely one of my favorite movies ever! the plot is great, the action is superb, and Heath Ledger is INCREDIBLE as the Joker...you will be waiting in anticipation for another scene with him in it! an overall awesome movie and can't wait to get it on DVD
I thoroughly enjoyed it...it was a great movie to see in the theater and was very exciting! The acting was very good...Daniel Craig was stellar! Don't expect an amazing plot but it wasn't that bad...I mean it's not so bad that it's not worth seeing by any means. it picks up where Casino Royale left off. I loved it and will definitely get it on DVD!
