My son and I read all 3 books and have been looking forward to seeing the movie for months. They did a great job translating it to the big screen. I was as tense during the movie as I was reading the book. Jennifer Lawrence was wonderful (as she was in Winter's Bone), the supporting actors as well and the sets/costumes were amazing. Only complaint was the shaky camera technique they used for certain scenes. I know why they did it (good effect) but it made me dizzy!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I was duped. The trailer looked great and was completely misleading. This movie did an unfortunate service to Tyler's inspiring real-life story of faith and a courageous battle with cancer. Had I known it was nothing but a shove-it-down-your-throat religious infomercial, I never would have spent a dime on it. The cheesy, poor quality of acting was better-suited to a Family Channel movie. Worse, my kids were completely depressed for hours later.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
