Not as LOVELY as the book

My husband & I saw the movie. I read the book, he didn't. He liked it , I was very disappointed. It is a mere shadow of the book. Far too much of the book was left out which made parts of it very confusing. The characters of Ruth & Ray were not nearly as developed as they should have been as they were key characters. Had the story been told properly the end would make much more sense. The book is written beautifully but the screen play is truly lacking. Perhaps it would have been better had I not read the book but I don't think so. The best suggestion I can give is to read the book either before or after seeing the movie. Maybe some day someone will make a movie which tells the true story.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
