Though flashy enough to hold my interest, I could have waited for the DVD release. Characters that are integral to the book were completely left out of the story, causing the story to progress in a rushed fashion. In the first hour 3 out of 4 Cardinals had already been murdered and I was left wondering where the heart of the story went. The villain I had pictured in my head was a violent, hateful, sadist who derived pleasure from not only other people's pain, but his own also; this is not the case with the character in the movie. In fact he seems remorseful, doing only what he is called upon to do. Needless to say, I left the theater somewhat disappointed.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
