If you love action, this movie is non-stop for 2 straight hours. It really felt they were in an apocalyptic world. Great Story. I thought the acting was good. Don't know what other people are complaining about. Ever since Dark Knight came out, people have wanted to see movies live up to that standard. This was close, but its an entirely different movie. The only thing I had problem with was the ending. I read on some message board about 2 weeks ago and someone posted the exact ending to the movie. I thought it was bogus, and mildly hoping it was too. However I heard that they shot another ending that was even worse, so I'm glad they went with this one.
My wife surprised me with tickets to see this movie, and although I was super excited about going, I knew what it was like watching movies of this genre with her.......awkward. She is the type of person that has a hard time getting past the language and just enjoying a movie. She loves Paul Rudd, so that kind of opened the door. Hoping she would at least make the entire movie, I was astounded by her reaction. She absolutely loved it! Even started quoting some lines after it was over.
Paul Rudd has that awkward, nervous funny humor that relates to so much people, it was easy to get lost in the movie. This is not just a normal college guy humor flick, this has everything.
I went in already knowing some things of the book were cut out and the ending was a little different. Although I liked the book ending better, this ending flows a little easier with the story. Very well executed. It states it is rated R for sexuality, which should be changed to strong sexual content. A lot more F-Bombs than I was expecting, so if you are sensitive to that, beware. But if you can put all that aside, this movie was incredible. I can't wait to see if again. Very dark and very true to the book. Each actor picked was perfect for their role. Especially Rorschach.
This is the Batman movie we have all waited to see since the beginning. Heath Ledger gave a brilliant performance, and only wish he were here to see the finished product. I know the academy doesn't look at movies like this for oscar considerations, but this by far warrants a couple of them.
