I think the series is difficult to enjoy or appreciate if you haven't read the books or if you're not a fan of the series -it is first and foremost a love story. I read all 4 books before the first movie ever came out, and knowing the story well enough but not having the Eclipse book fresh in my mind, I can't compare the authenticity, however, I loved the third movie, I thought it was excellent. I'm especially very impressed with the wolves, the special effects had the potential to be very bad or overally unrealistic, but they're exactly how I pictured them. The tent scene is probably one of the most memorable scenes and should be...you can just feel how strongly Jacob feels for Bella, how serene and happy he looks while he's keeping her warm, and you see him finally starting to understand and respect Edward (sort of). I think people tend to analyze the story a little too much, just take it for what it is - a love story with vampires and werewolves.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
