I have to agree with the last reviewer - the movie did not live up to the hype. I guess I expected much more. The movie did have a few very funny moments, but overall I have to say that I was a little bored. My 10 year old daughter loved it, though. I also enjoyed the minions and the main characters, but I think the storyline just tried to be a little too cutsy as well as clever.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I loved the movie! The special effects were amazing. I did not see it in 3D, but even so, I loved the bright colors and the weirdly fascinating creatures. Helena Bonham Carter was terrific as the Queen of Hearts. Of course Johnny Depp created another winning character! Mia Masikowska was great as Alice and I'm certain we'll be seeing more of her in the future.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie had some great special effects, but there were also some special effects that I could've done without - burning people & animals. My daughter is 14 and found this movie disturbing. The acting wasn't up to par with the exception of the child actors.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
