The movie was really great. I went on opening day and sat with a room full of screaming, hormone pumping, teenage girls who sighed, squeeled and giggled at every moment I would have if my husband hadn't been sitting right next to me. The casting was excellent (and I was a sceptic at first as no one could possible look as gorgeous as the Edward in my head) and the adaptation was really good, too. I think that it's best if you'd already read though. My husband thought that the story was a little shallow since he hadn't read them. I, on the other hand, was able to enjoy everything as I've read the books and know what each scene meant and was really entertained by the movie as a whole. I can't wait for the other three!
