Disapointed but Ok

I think this movie is very disapointing. Coming from someone who really enjoyed the books, I really expected more. I think the actors were appropriately chosen and had the potential to be very good. I also think they were not given enough direction or coaching. My biggest quam would be that the screen writers totally missed some very key undercurrents of the book, and focused too much on comedy and downplayed the drama. The comedic relief was good, but without the drama it served no purpose.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
