Viewers need to understand that this film is Tim Burton's take on the Alice in Wonderland stories. The scenery is breathtaking and the characters are just more fleshed out versions of Lewis Carroll's cast. There are some dark moments, and there are some hilarious moments, and the parallels between Alice's life in London and her adventures in Underland are clearly defined within the story. The ultimate them of the movie "Believe in Yourself and Follow your Heart" is a lovely one. Some of the fight scenes may be upsetting to small children, but it is a higly enjoyable film for young and old.
