I neither hated nor loved it. I love the books, so I was excited for the movie, and then let down when it was over. This is why I wonder how much of the film was influenced by directorial agenda or the actor's liberty. I can't fault an actor for their own personal interpretation. I just feel there will be ramifications for the next film.
I hope a larger budget for New Moon will allow them to take larger liberties. I feel like the book connection Edward and Bella had didn't translate well on the screen. Maybe it did and I missed it amid all the screaming and laughing from the teen fans. I'm just worried for New Moon, and hope a stronger relationship is established at the start so certain events that occur later are more believable.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
