Not as good as the book

I have read the Twilight series three times, hooked onto it by my teenage students, and I have to say that I was disappointed with this film. If I hadn't read the books, I think it would have been even worst, as it would have been impossible to make sense of much without a great deal of background knowledge of the characters. I think the characters were mostly well-cast, and the setting was perfect. Cool soundtrack. HOWEVER, for readers of the series, it was more like a supplement than a culmination of the book. I felt like I only got a bite of what the book was about. I will buy it when it comes out on DVD, but let's hope that if and when they make the next book into a movie' that it is much better than this.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
