Penn is amazing!!

If Sean Penn isn't one of the top 2 or 3 actors of our time; I would like to know who they are. He is fabulous in this true-life story. I had never heard of Harvey Milk, what a life. If you are even the least bit uncomfortable with gay subject matter....STAY HOME! I'm not sure it deserves all the Oscar hype that's been associated with the movie but it was a great story; and as I said, Sean Penn is wonderful!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you are over 23 you will most likely have trouble staying awake. However, if you are between 10 and 22 you might actually enjoy this incredibly boring film.
The plot is so far-fetched and unbelievable it's hard to imagine. I know, I know; there could be vampires among us and there could be this and there could be that. Even for a "monster movie" this isn't plausible.
This was not nearly as bad as Synechdoche, NY (man, is that a bad flick) but just wait for the DVD. Which shouldn't take long. As usual, the books are much better.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Should have known....

When you step to the box office window and have difficulty pronouncing the name of the movie you should know there might be a problem.
For the pretentious out there; hurry to to the theater so you can talk with other self-important people about this awful film. How it really makes you think about your life. The artistry of it, blah, blah, blah. This movie STINKS!!
I love Phillip Seymour-Hoffman and have no idea why he would agree to play the lead in this movie. Emily Watson and Samantha Morton were also very good. However, none of the actors were good enough to keep this from being a "STAY AWAY FROM" flick.
One review said it best; "I can't believe I spent 2 hours and 3 minutes watching this garbage".
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I very seldom enjoy the British (yawn) movie however, this one was very good. I admit, I went only to spend a couple of hours with Keira Knightley and left very pleased. The story was one I didn't know much about but, googled afterward and was interested.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What a piece of garbage

I wish there was a negative rating.
Do NOT, under any circumstance, pay money to see this piece of crap!! I like Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott can, on rare occasions, be funny. However, this was awful. If you think a 10-year old, fatherless boy talking like a drunken sailor at a frat party is funny then by all means drop $8 or $9 and see this trash. By the way, after reading some other reviews that say this movie was hilarious, and "I laughed the whole time"....no wonder our country is having issues.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Very powerful movie; I almost always prefer real to fiction. Unbelievalbe what the LAPD did to people back then. Think any of that still goes on?? Angelina was very, very good...a little over the top at times but overall a very good movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Memorable and Remarkable

Whatever we do we can NEVER forget. This movie drives that home from the perspective of children. The two young leads were unbelievably wonderful. There was also the sense of adults being trapped by Hitler's Nazi regime. Do NOT take your young children as a history lesson. However DO go see for yourself. If you are one of the complete, total fools who STILL thinks the Holocaust never happened ....
Yes, I recommend this movie.
