I am a huge fan of the books; therefore, I am uber-critical of the movies. This one was excellent! Taylor is definitely improving as an actor, and Rob and Kristen were at the top of their games! I'm going again, and again, and again!
I was enormously pleased with Hardwick's interpretation of Meyer's addictive work. The books, for me, are like Bella is to Edward, a drug. I am so personally invested in the novels that the anticipation of the movie version almost frightened me. The casting of the brooding, conflicted vampire, Edward Cullen, was spot-on. He more than embodies the sincere, passionate lover that is the Edward of my imagination. Kristen Stewart's Bella possesses an uncanny ability to silently portray Bella's inner dialogue that drives the novel. Aside from a few minor additions obviously interjected into the film to diversify it's demographic, the movie met my expectations as an excellently executed adaptation.
