Unfortunately, when books get made into movies, a lot of liberties are taken. Not because they want to bastardize the book, but out of necessity. I very much enjoyed Twilight, but they had to take a lot of scenes from the book and jam them together because of time. However, it was still a very good movie. The time constraints that couldn't be avoided were the only downsides for me. I can forgive those pretty easily though, because not only did the author of the books, Stephenie Meyer have a cameo, but from what I understand she was on set the majority of the time at the cast and crew's disposal. So if it was good enough for her, it's good enough for me.
