Good, but not the book

I took my 3rd grade son and some of his friends who have all read the book, and many of them the series. They enjoyed the movie. It's a big fantasy, action film. Afterwards, they spent a long time discussing the differences between the book and the movie. Percy was older in the movie, than the book, they travel to different places, etc. Also, they pulled in events and characters from books 2 and 3 for the movie, so it seems likely there won't be a sequel if they've already spent their wealth.
All in all, loosely based on the books it was a good movie. Then my son came home and started reading book 2 again!
