Movie had many good laughs and gags yet it was missing something. I almost felt like I was watching some form of the movie, "Airplane" at times but Airplane is a classic....this is not. The casting of Ferrell and Wahlberg is lacking. As time went on, it seemed to drag....it was a long 1 hr 47 minutes.
My vote for worst movie of the year. Insufferable, witless and lowbrow. I saw it with a packed audience that laughed and howled....perhaps proving my theory that the human race is getting dumber with each generation.
a very tedious film with obnoxiously stupid, sophomoric soldiers that fire bullets constantly into thin air and treat the local Afghans like excrement.
What is the point of a documentary if you learn nothing about the person. This "documentary" never delves into the pysche of Miss RIvers. There is never a relationship with anyone she comes into contact with....all in her life is superficial. If I did learn anything in 84 minutes, it is that Joan RIvers is a self obsessed miserable woman.
If ever there was a sappy, contrived script, this is it. Too much convoluted made up nonsense and few surprises. This movie plays like a bad 2 o'clock in the morning made-for-TV movie. It's about a dysfunctional family with its lies, secrets and deceit which ordinarily might be interesting but not here. Andy Garcia takes on a horrible New York accent that literally made me cringe. The young son is desirous of extremely obese women which was acted to disbelief. In fairness, the acting was good; too bad the script was not.
