I walked out after 35 minutes so I could not tell you what this mixed up garbage is all about...and I don't care. The writer-director should be hanged from the highest tree and given the tree of death for subjecting the public to this trash.
absolute pile of trash. the monster is a 3 story high tarantula who destroys the town and eats all the townspeople and is a highly evolved space traveler. really?
This movie suffers from trying to be philosophical and it fails miserably. I could not sympathize or care at all about the Will Ferrell character. The script is contrived and as artificial as saccharin. Stay in bed and watch television and don't make the effort to see this.
I like action movies but this one is soooo long with tedious chases, fighting, explosions and what have you. And the supposedly sexy woman in the gang has less curves than Olive Oyl??
This movie is sappy and it struggles to get laughs. Harrison Ford plays a self centered jerk and delivers his dialog in deep somnolent monotone. Diane Keaton is dull. Jeff Goldblum has a tiny, insignificant part as the boss of a failing t v morning show. The film is all Rachel McAdams as a young, attractive and energetic t v producer trying to make it in the big city...sorta like the Mary Tyler Moore show.
Nonsense, boring, run around, inane, shoot 'em up idiocy pretending to be a spy thriller. Could not wait for this waste of celluloid to end and not have to look at Helen Mirren's ugly hound dog face any longer. The writer of this crap should be shot and the director hanged.
The script can be lacking, sometimes convoluted and the plot a bit absurd but "The Town" did not leave me bored. Not a classic by any means but chalk it up to good entertainment.
