I will start by saying that I love the books and actually enjoyed the movie, but this it had all the wonderful makings of made for TV movie.The acting looked forced and it really jumped around, not that I don't understand how difficult it is to to adapt a narrated book into a screenplay. I think the only way anyone could really enjoy this movie is if they really liked the book.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
