Solid Music but not a Musical

The student actors were average to good but two of the leads, Kay Panabaker and Asher Book, both singers were weak. Kherington Payne, Naturi Naughton and Collins Penne gave very strong, artistic performances. The old heads, Allen, Grammer, Dutton, Mullalley and Neuwirth were solid performers giving the kids plenty of room to explore their own thing. Characters were not well developed BUT the music was great, the dancing very good and some very strong dramatic portrayals. And that's why I recommend it and will probably see it again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
