Amazing Spectacle

Avatar isn't perfect when it comes to story, character, and dialogue. While those elements are solid, they are presented simplistically and would not be that engaging without the astounding visuals. Visually, the film is a magnificent presentation of an alien world, and it concludes with one of the most epic battles ever depicted on screen. You should definitely see Avatar in 3D or IMAX 3D for the full effect.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
