But where did the plot go?

It almost seemed like they took quotes from the book and used them randomly throughout the film. Scenes were rearranged, deleted and added (which completely baffles me: if you have to make the story shorter, why would you add things in?) I am not sure that if you had not read the books, any of the story would have made sense at all. The direction was all over the place. Scenes were you were meant to feel for the characters became comic and unrealistic. Carlisle's first entrance looked straight off of General Hospital with the soap opera lighting and score. The acting for the most part was fine, especially the scenes with Edward and Bella alone. They did a great job with such an awkward script.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
