Star Trek: The Action Motion Picture

If you love the original series, you may or may not like this film. It is more accessible for non-Star Trek fans. It is really an action film, and there is nothing to uniquely tie the Star Trek characters in to this movie. This movie was the opposite extreme of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. It was all action and not very much about the characters. ST: TMP was no action and again not very much about the characters. It is indeed not your daddy's Star Trek. It has lost a lot in the appeal to the masses. On a positive note, Chris Pine was not that bad as young Kirk, and Quinto was excellent. Too bad the story and script were mindless and without the soul that was the original series.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This one was odd. Came in with high expectations.Without giving too much away, it is a lot like The Dark Knight without a charismatic villain. The parallels even go to Rorschach's voice. It sounds like Christian Bale did the voice over. Were some interesting parts. I found myself waiting for the point where I could really connect with the movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
